8 ways to support your lymphatic system.

Your lymphatic system cleans up and disposes of waste left behind by the other systems of your body. It drains fluid back into your bloodstream by collecting excess fluid ( lymph fluid ) surrounding your body’s tissues and organs, cleans it up and returns it to your bloodstream.

Here are the main functions of your lymphatic system

- filters lymph as it passes through your lymph nodes, the white blood cells attack any bacteria or viruses found in the lymph.

- filters your blood via your spleen, removing old red blood cells and replacing them with new red blood cells that are made in the bone marrow.

- helps to remove toxins and other impurities from the body, such as carbon dioxide, sodium and other byproducts of cellular activity, removing them through perspiration, bowel movements, urine and your breath.

- defends your body against illness-causing germs, bacteria, viruses and fungi. The system builds immunity by making special white blood cells called lymphocytes that produce antibodies which are responsible for immune responses that defend your body against disease.

Your lymphatic system is an essential part of your immune system, this how you can support your body to fight off viruses.

Maintaining a healthy lymphatic system is important to prevent illness and keep other important body systems functioning.

Support your lymphatic system by incorporating these suggestions into your day to day life
